The third TED talk I watch was done by the author Elizabeth Gilbert who wrote "Eat Love Pray". In this talk she talks about creativity. Gilbert talked about how the Greek and Romans thought that creativity was a spirit that came to visit certain people. She talked about how once people started to change their thought on creativity and think that certain people were creative and others weren't this gave artist to much responsibility and pressure. Many artist and writers today are very unhappy or commit suicide. This shouldn't be a reputation that artist and creative people have. People just need to believe in themselves and their creative "spirit" and push through and they will succeed.

The second TED talk I watched was done my John Wooden. This talk was about success. Wooden talked about how people shouldn't compare them selves to everyone else to know if they are successful. To be successful you need to do the best you can do. He said that he believes success is about your character and the kind of person you are. To be successful is to be kind, try your best all the time and never complain or regret. Wooden talked about when he was the coach of basketball at UCLA and he would not allow profanity or talking bad about other team mates. He said the score didn't tell you who won or lost it was how you played and acted that determined who won and lost. I found this TED talk inspiring because I think it is more important to be a good, positive person to tried hard than a negative person that was good at everything. I think that if more people thought like this people would be happier in life and become more successful because of that.

The first TED talk I watched was about the government. It talked about how people think badly of politicians. This TED talk was talking about how the government has changed over time and needs to continue to change in ways that will help our country grow. David Cameron talked about our countries debt and how we are planning to make things better with out using more money. He talked about how we need to stop getting caught up in thinking money makes us happy and makes things better and think about our families and having fun together again. He talks about how money is not as important as we make it out to be and that we need to start thinking about ways to use less money that will also help the environment. I think this is very important because our country does need to stop spending money that we don't need to be spending. We need to think about ways to help our country and become more efficient which has a lot to do with design. As a designer I want to help find ways to help the environment and our country.

response to the eleventh hour

After watching this movie it really made me realize how much of a negative impact we are making on the world. I think many of the most beautiful things in the world come from nature and I don't want that to start to change. I think people need to face what is really happening and stop denying what is really going on. I am afraid people wont notice how much we are hurting the earth until bigger and worse things start to happen. I want to help make change through design when I have my own career and need to start learning more about it now.
